| Stapenhill Pub Crawl | |
This is a circular route, so you choose your own starting point, We will start at our local:- THE BLACK HORSE Stanton Road - Pedigree and the occasional guest. On leaving turn right follow Stanton Road to the bottom of the hill turn right at Co-Op (Metro) down Woods Lane to:- THE GROVE - Pedigree, On leaving retrace your steps for twenty meters, turn right into Astil Street go to the end to the junction with Malvern St, turn left follow this Street to junction with Spring Terrace, turn right down to Stapenhill Rd, turn right 100 meters on your right is:- THE ELMS - Bass, Tower and up to two more guests available. On leaving turn left, back the way you came over the previous junction to the island, go over island. Now this is where it gets interesting there are three pubs in about 50 meters. On your right is the:- PUNCH BOWL - Pedigree. Further down on the left is the:- BARLEY MOW - Pedigree, Just about opposite is the:- NEW INN - Pedigree. On leaving, turn right passed the car park on your right you will come to an old Methodist Hall, go right, down the hill towards the river here you will find:- THE BOATHOUSE INN - Pedigree and Abbott Ale & Guest. Leaving here go back up the hill, (towards the old Methodist Hall), turn right into Ferry St, go 400 yds, turn left into Frederick St, go up to the junction with Greenwood Rd, go down here to the end, turn left go up Ford St about 30 yds on your right is the Camra pub of the year:- THE PLOUGH - Pedigree a Mild and up to 5 guests. On leaving turn left, to the bottom of hill back onto Ferry St, turn left, 15 meters on your right is the:- GARDENS - Pedigree. Turn right on leaving forward onto Short St, carry on past a row of shops, go another 15 meters on your right is:- THE DART - Pedigree. On leaving, turn right go to island turn left up Sussex Rd to junction with Cornwall Rd, there in front of you is an alley way to Rosliston Rd, over zebra crossing go left, just up on your right is:- THE CROWN - Pedigree and Butronwood. From here go across car park up Brackenwood Rd to junction with Sycamore Rd, turn left and keep going along Sycamore Road to junction Stanton Rd, there you will see on your right is the pub you past earlier:- THE COPPER HEARTH - Pedigree. After this I think you will agree that you have had a good selection of pubs and plenty of exercise. |
